What is a glass cover?

A glass cover is a disposable circular or custom-shaped paperboard lid/cap designed to cover the top of a drinking glass or jug to protect the contents from dust, germs and contaminants. It is also a prime candidate to promote your brand or advertising message by printing with your logo or message on the top.

What is a glass cover made of?

Our glass covers are made from lightweight, food-safe paper or cardboard. Responsibly sourced paperboard that is fully recyclable.

Do glass covers come in different sizes?

Yes, paperboard glass covers come in a raft of different sizes to fit all types of glasses, jugs or ramekins.

Where are glass covers used?

Glassware cover usage is prevalent in hotels, hospitals, cruise lines and airlines. Because of our short lead-times we are often asked to print promotional glass covers for product launches and PR events.

Paperboard glass covers in hotels are generally used for room service to protect drinks being transported from the kitchen to the bedrooms. They help prevent spillage and protect the contents from dust, germs and contaminants (sneezing waiters!).

Glass covers for hotel bathrooms are a popular use for the bedroom tumblers and serve as a hygienic way to keep drinking glasses free of dust.

Large corporations use glass covers in the Board Room and customer reception areas.

Sometimes used at events or conferences to temporarily cover drinks, particularly outdoors, to prevent insects or debris from falling in.

Can glass covers be printed?

Yes. Hotels and restaurants may use custom glass covers to showcase branding, welcome messages or cleanliness assurances. Send us your artwork and let´s show you what we can do.

Can glass covers be reused?

They can be re-used but we would not recommend it as they are used for hygiene purposes.

Are glass covers eco friendly?

Yes. Our glass covers are made from responsibly sourced renewable, recyclable paperboard.

Do glass covers deteriorate?

No. Provided they are not removed from their original packaging and stored in a dry, cool environment away from direct sun (like any printed paper product).

How quickly can I get my glass covers?

Stock unprinted are despatched next day on a 24 hour service (UK – EU countries may take a little longer)

Printed covers are generally delivered in 5 weeks from your approval of artwork.

Do I have to pay set up/cliche´/printing plate charges for my glasscovers?

No. We charge no set-up fees at all.

What can I print on glass covers?

Within reason, almost anything. Send us what you have and we´ll tell you if we can´t do it. It´s only happened once or twice!

Are glass covers always white?

We can print colours on to white board, also we have kraft paper board glasscovers available that work with bolder colour printing and give a very “eco” feel.

What are the delivery costs?

Our pricing includes delivery to principal areas of the countries listed in our shipping page. What do we mean principal areas? Well, in the UK places such as the Channel islands, Scottish Highlands and Islands are subject to a premium (ask for details) and in Spain, for instance, the Balearic Islands will be subject to a premium. If in doubt, just ask! We´re here to help.

How do I order glasscovers?

What artwork do I need for my glassware covers?

In an ideal world we like a .pdf file at a resolution of 300 dpi, or a .ai file at minimum 300dpi with layers still intact.

What if I don't have artwork for my paperboard glass covers?

Relax! We can help. Tell us what you 'd like and we can prepare artwork for you (charge applies).

When do I pay?

Personalised orders are generally subject to requirement for pre-pay, either online or offline.

Can I obtain a credit account?

Yes, of course. Drop us a line and we can arrange for a credit account to be opened for you (subject to status).

What size do I need?

We suggest turning your glass upside down on a piece of paper.  Draw around it and then measure the widest part in millimetres.
